This page explains, in plain language, what personal information DeVries Dynamics collects, why, where it goes, and how to get it removed. It is a plain-language summary of how this one-person business actually operates, written to meet the openness requirement of Canada’s PIPEDA.
What is collected
- When you use the contact form: your name, your email address, whether your enquiry is about support or a build, and whatever you type into the message box.
- When you email or call: whatever you choose to tell me, plus your email address or phone number.
- Basic page counts: the site records aggregate page views so I can tell whether the flyers and the website are reaching people. This uses GoatCounter, which sets no cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
I do not collect payment card details through this site, and I do not run advertising trackers.
Why it is collected
Only to reply to you, quote your job, and do the work you asked for. That is the whole purpose.
Where it goes
This is the part most sites hide, so here it is plainly. The contact form is delivered through Google Forms and the email arrives at a Gmail mailbox. That means your name, email address and message are stored on Google’s servers, outside Canada, under Google’s own terms and privacy policy. Mail sent to @devriesdynamics.com is forwarded to that same mailbox by a forwarding service (ImprovMX).
Nothing is sold, rented, shared or disclosed to anyone else, and nothing is used for advertising.
Access to your devices and accounts
Some support work involves accessing your computer, your accounts, or your passwords. When that happens:
- Access is used only for the task you asked for, during the session you agreed to.
- Any credential you share is used for that job only and is not stored afterward.
- You are told what will be accessed before it is accessed.
- Remote sessions are ended when the work is done.
Whatever you keep on your own device stays yours. I do not copy, keep, or archive your files or mail.
How long it is kept
Enquiry emails are kept while we are working together and for about two years afterward, so I can answer “did I work with you, and what did I do” questions. Ask me to delete a thread and I will.
Your control over it
You can ask to see what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email info@devriesdynamics.com and I will do it. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
If something goes wrong
If a privacy breach ever creates a real risk of significant harm to you, you will be notified directly and the breach will be reported to the Privacy Commissioner, as PIPEDA requires.
